In 2010,
Inasa Foil S.A. was formed by merging the Spanish Foil activities of
Alcoa and Norsk Hydro. The company operates two sites: the former
factory of Hydro in Irurtzun near Pamplona and the ex-Alcoa activities
in Sabiñánigo, Huesca , 120 km north of Zaragoza.
The
Irurtzun site was formed as a cable factory. In 1968, the site started
producing aluminium foil which it has manufactured with the so-called
continuous casting technology since 1980. The existing casting
equipment enables the company to react to swings in customer demand on
short notice. The same flexibility exists in later production steps as
Inasa operates four rolling mills and 14 furnaces. The sites capacity
is around 25,000 metric tons. The company is certified according to ISO
9001 and ISO 14001.
The
plant in Sabiñánigo was founded in 1927. Its flexible production set-up
and the strict focus on customer service enables Inasa Foil Sabiñánigo
to follow the quick changes in customer requirements. With its
production set-up with three rolling mills and ten furnaces, Inasa Foil
Sabiñánigo targets the market niche of small-scale orders with short
delivery times. The site is certified according to ISO 9001, ISO 14000,
OHSAS 18001, FDA, CONEG und HACCP.
